Class Pass featuring Pure Barre

I have been wanting to try Pure Barre for just about ever but for some reason was never able to get myself into a studio and really do it. So when ClassPass approached me to help spread the word on their FABULOUS monthly membership program I jumped on it! ClassPass is an amazing opportunity for you to try a variety of studios and classes in your area. From FlyWheel to Yoga to CrossFit to Pure Barre. While paying a single price {$79-99 per month depending on city}. In Charlotte with ClassPass I have the opportunity to try 32 different studios, I should be a in crazy good shape right?! Haha. Well ClassPass gave me the opportunity to finally try out Pure Barre and I have absolutely fallen in love! It has definitely been my favorite thus far.

Why you ask? First off you don’t have to wear shoes {love that}, class goes by insanely fast, you see results very quickly, and you truly feel the burn. I can now see why people I’ve talked to that started it are now absolutely addicted! You may be looking at the newest addict now.

I took some time to talk to Caris the owner of Pure Barre in Ballantyne to let y’all know a little bit more about the class and her studio {my favorite}…

Talking with Caris – Pure Barre Ballantyne Owner

What is your favorite thing about Pure Barre?
My favorite thing about teaching is meeting all of the clients and making connections with them. The connections drive the exercise. My favorite thing about doing Pure Barre is that it has given me results, I always have fun while doing it, and honestly it’s addictive. I love that anyone can do it no matter what level they are at. It’s also a very personal exercise, you can set your own goals.

When you started doing Pure Barre what was the biggest difference you saw in your body?
Definition. I didn’t know my arms would actually make muscles. Using the smaller weights and completing more reps gave me that real definition. Gave me what I like to call Red Carpet ready arms.

What are your favorite pre and post work out snacks or meals?
I’m a huge banana fan so I usually have one before I work out. If there’s peanut butter around I will absolutely dip the banana in it! I also love Kind granola bars, spinach and blueberry smoothies with protein powder during the warmer months, and recently salads with a little protein {Caris had super cute, yes cute mason jar salad when I came to meet with her}.

What different classes are offered at Pure Barre?

Each class is going to be the same level but the unique thing about that is you can set your own pace and do what you can then try to do better with each class. You will never walk into the same Pure Barre class twice though. Each class with contain different moves that focus on different parts of the body {your seat, inner and outer thighs, arms}.

Favorite song(s) to workout to?
Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon, Fireball by Pitball, and the classic I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston {absolutely cannot hear that song and not get inspired to move!}. Anything really though that has a great beat and I can sing along to. I definitely love to sing along to the songs during class, take my mind off the burn!

Why do you recommend Pure Barre?
It’s a full body work out, you’re in and out in 55 minutes, you truly feel the burn while your doing the moves, and you WILL see results. It’s an hour to yourself, to focus on yourself, and your body plus it’s fun!

Favorite article of workout clothing?
lulu lemon wonder unders. Obsessed. They have a four way stretch material, feel amazing, and hold up forever. They never lose their stretch or form. {She’s officially talked me into trying them!}

What is the number one tip you have for people who are trying Pure Barre for the first time?
Don’t be intimidated. Truthfully no one is paying attention to what you are doing as everyone in class is so focused on what they are doing themselves and getting the movement right that their eyes are focused on their bodies or closed!

I love the idea of ClassPass!! Part of the reason I get weary about signing up for classes outside of a gym setting is that it feels limiting in a way. This is a great way to try out a ton of new workouts!
